Access structured courses, learning materials, and quizzes to support your development as a driving instructor.

Courses

Courses are structured learning programmes covering specific topics relevant to driving instruction.

Browsing Courses

  1. Go to the Courses section from the menu
  2. Browse available courses by category or topic
  3. Click on a course to see its description, modules, and duration

Enrolling in a Course

  1. Find a course you're interested in
    Browse or search for courses that match your development needs.
  2. Click "Enroll"
    This adds the course to your learning dashboard.
  3. Work through the modules
    Complete each module at your own pace.
  4. Track your progress
    See how far you've progressed through each course.
Tip

Look for courses that target your development areas. If you're struggling with risk management competencies, find courses focused on that topic.

Learning Resources

Learning resources are individual pieces of content - articles, videos, guides, and reference materials.

Finding Resources

  • Browse by category - Resources are organised by topic
  • Filter by type - Find articles, videos, or downloadable guides
  • Search - Look for specific topics

Recommended Resources

After trainer observations, myPDI may recommend specific resources based on competencies where you scored low. These targeted recommendations help you focus your learning.

Quizzes

Test your knowledge with quizzes covering various aspects of driving instruction.

Taking a Quiz

  1. Go to Quizzes
    Find the quizzes section from the menu.
  2. Select a quiz
    Choose a quiz topic you want to test yourself on.
  3. Start the quiz
    Click Start to begin answering questions.
  4. Answer the questions
    Work through each question, selecting or entering your answer.
  5. View your results
    See your score and review which questions you got right or wrong.

Quiz History

Your quiz attempts are saved, so you can:

  • See how you've performed over time
  • Retake quizzes to improve your score
  • Identify topics that need more study
Tip

Don't just aim to pass quizzes - review the explanations for questions you got wrong to deepen your understanding.

Certificates

Earn certificates as you complete courses and achieve milestones:

  • Course completion certificates - Awarded when you finish a course
  • Achievement certificates - Recognise significant accomplishments

Downloading Certificates

  1. Go to the Certificates section
  2. Find the certificate you want
  3. Click Download to save a PDF version

Making the Most of Learning Resources

Connect Learning to Practice

After studying a topic, consciously apply it in your next lesson. Then reflect on how it went in your log.

Focus on Weak Areas

Use your observation feedback to guide your learning. If you scored low on a competency, seek out resources specifically about that area.

Regular Learning

Even 15-20 minutes of study between lessons adds up. Consistent small efforts are more effective than occasional cramming.

Discuss with Your Trainer

Share what you've learned with your trainer. They can help you apply theoretical knowledge to practical teaching situations.
