Understanding Your Dashboard

Your dashboard is your home base in myPDI, giving you a quick overview of your progress and recent activity.

PDI Dashboard Overview

As a PDI, your dashboard is designed to help you understand where you are in your training journey and what to focus on next.

Metric Boxes

At the top of your dashboard, you'll see three key metrics:

  • Learners - The number of learner drivers you've added to the system
  • Latest Score - Your total score from your most recent trainer observation (out of 51)
  • My Logs - The number of reflective logs you've created

Quick Actions

Below the metrics, you'll find quick action buttons:

  • New Log - Create a new reflective log
  • All Logs - View all your logs
  • Book Lesson - Schedule a new lesson

Score Trend

If you have two or more trainer observations, you'll see a score trend graph. This shows how your total observation scores have changed over time.

What to look for

An upward trend indicates improvement. Don't worry about small dips - focus on the overall direction. Consistent scores around 40+ suggest you're approaching Standards Check readiness.

Latest Observation Scores

This section shows your scores from your most recent trainer observation, organised by category:

Lesson Planning (4 competencies)

Scores for competencies 1-4, relating to how you plan and structure lessons.

Risk Management (5 competencies)

Scores for competencies 5-9, relating to safety and risk awareness.

Teaching & Learning (8 competencies)

Scores for competencies 10-17, relating to your teaching methods and techniques.

Score Colours

  • Red (1) - Needs significant work
  • Amber (2) - Adequate but needs improvement
  • Green (3) - Competent
Viewing Feedback

Tap on any competency row to see the specific feedback your trainer provided for that competency.

Top Development Needs

This section highlights competencies where you scored 1 (needs significant work) in your latest observation. These are your priority areas for improvement.

How to Use This

  1. Focus your self-study and practice on these areas
  2. Discuss them with your trainer
  3. Look for learning resources related to these competencies
  4. Pay extra attention to these areas in your next lessons

Top Strengths

This section shows competencies where you scored 3 (competent) in your latest observation. Celebrate these wins!

Tip

Your strengths can help you improve your weaknesses. Think about what you do well in these areas and whether those techniques could apply elsewhere.

Average Performance Over Time

Expand this collapsible section to see your average scores across all observations, not just the most recent one.

  • Avg. Development Needs - Competencies where your average score is below 2.0
  • Avg. Strengths - Competencies where your average score is 2.5 or above

The "n=" number shows how many observations the average is based on. More observations mean a more reliable average.

Recent Observations

A list of your most recent trainer observations showing:

  • Date of the observation
  • Which learner you were teaching
  • Category scores (Lesson Planning, Risk Management, Teaching)
